To help capture more of these opportunities for Canada, the federal government has just launched a
new Network of Centres of Excellence in Geomatics. Dr. Elizabeth Cannon will tell us how GPS works and how it is revolutionizing a wide range of human activities from farming and forestry to aircraft and ship navigation. Elizabeth Cannon is recognized worldwide for her GPS research and technology transfer activities. This year she was picked as one of the Financial Post’s « Top 40 Under 40. » In 1995, she earned the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers’ Young Engineer Achievement Award Elizabeth also holds the NSERC/Petro-Canada Chair for Women in Science and Engineering (Prairie Region).

Elizabeth Cannon, University of Calgary

Jeudi 5 novembre 1998

Le système de positionnement global par satellite (GPS) dessert à l’heure actuelle des millions d’utilisateurs.
